LCMA’s BOCA concludes 139th meeting, reviews 164 construction permission cases | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA’s) Building Operations Controlling Authority (BOCA) on Tuesday concluded its 139th meeting in Srinagar, with officials reviewing and discussing 164 construction permission cases. They said the final round of meeting was concluded today with the discussion of all important and other cases. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the final round of the meeting, chaired by LCMA Vice-Chairman Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, took up residential and commercial applications along with requests for design modifications and advisory changes. “Altogether, 164 cases were discussed in detail, for prior permission and other formalities,” they said. The cases highlighted by KNO regarding delays in Nishat were also discussed, an official said. “Cases with complete documentation were processed, while others requiring design revisions or clarifications were advised accordingly,” he added. The meeting aimed to expedite decisions on genuine applications while ensuring all construction complies with environmental and urban planning norms. Speaking to KNO, VC LCMA Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, said the meeting was successfully conducted and covered all pending and new cases. “We ensure that each case is examined carefully. People have the right to build houses once due process is followed. Wherever building design changes or clarifications were needed, necessary advice was issued,” he said. The minutes of the meeting are yet to be finalised, pending signatures from all members, an official said. Once the formalities are complete, the minutes will be uploaded on the LCMA’s official website for public access, he added—(KNO)
