80 % of 10,000 candidates appear in CUCET-2018 | KNO

VC, Registrar applaud staff for successful conduct of entrance test

Srinagar, Apr 29 (KNO) : Out of 10,000 candidates who had applied for Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET-2018), about 80 per cent appeared in the entrance examination at different centres on April 28 and 29, 2018, respectively for admission to various Postgraduate, Diploma and Research Programmes offered by the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and other fellow Central Universities across India.

The consortium of the varsities comprising Central Universities of Kashmir, Jammu, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Haryana were the participating varsities for the entrance test, which was conducted at four academic blocks of the CUK and other designated centres in the Valley and across the country. Centres were also established at Leh and Kargil for the students of Ladakh region.

The programmes offered by the Central University of Kashmir included B.Voc Programmes in Retail and Logistic Management and in Tourism and Hospitality Management, UG five year integrated programmes in B.Ed, BSc/MSc Physics, BSc/MSc Zoology, BSc/MSc Biotechnology and BSc/MSc Mathematics, PG Diploma Programme in Guidance and Counselling, PG programmes in M.Tech Information Technology, M.A English, M.A Urdu, Master of Tourism and Travel, Management (MTTM), M.Com, M.A Convergent Journalism, M.A/MSc Mathematics, M.A Economics, M.A Political Science, M.A Comparative, Religion, LLM, M.A Education, M.Ed, and M.P.Ed and integrated research programmes in Management Studies, English, Urdu, Education, Mathematics, Economics, Journalism, Political Science and Physics. CUK faculty members, senior functionaries, officers and other allied staff were actively involved in the conduct of the examinations for both the days, which was hassle free, smooth and fair. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir and Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar took stock of the examination process during their visit to various centers during both the days.

They were satisfied with the conduct of the examination and hailed all the staff members for successfully conducting the entrance test. Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir and Prof. M Afzal Zargar also hailed the role played by all the participating Universities.
