Srinagar, Oct 23 (KNO): A grand felicitation ceremony to recognize efforts of COVID Warriors associated with Ehsaas Trust International was organized on Friday at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, Auditorium.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the function was attended by Atal Duloo, Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education, Dr. A G Ahanger, Director SKIMS, Dr. Masood Tanvir, acting Principal, GMC Srinagar and Dr. Hanief Balkhi, Additional District Magistrate, Srinagar among other dignitaries.
Various HODs from Govt. Medical College, Srinagar and its associated hospitals, SKIMS Soura and SKIMS Medical College Srinagar were also present at the ceremony. Doctors associated with Dial a Doctor Service and other awareness activities of trust were felicitated with certificate of appreciation by the hands of Financial Commissioner and other dignitaries. Certificates were also awarded to trainee volunteers across all districts, who were trained at Noora Hospital for providing home care to COVID patients which is one of the versatile missions carried out by Ehsaas.
Atal Duloo while speaking on the occasion praised the work of trust and their efforts to mitigate spread of COVID-19 pandemic, he insisted on role of social organizations and religious leaders to curb the pandemic and create awareness among the masses. “Ehsaas trust has conducted more than 28 awareness sessions online through social media with doctors across the globe which were viewed by more than two lac viewers”, said Hakim Mohammad Ilyas, General Secretary Ehsaas International. Doctors who conducted these sessions in association with trust were gratified by award of certificate of appreciation.
“We are catering to more than 300 patients per day over Tele-consultation who are provided with medical advice and e-prescription, it’s a virtual super specialty hospital that is function telephonically backed by more than 300 doctors from all specialties across the globe”, said Syed Tabasum Geelani, Chairman of the trust.
Dr. Hanief Balki, Additional District Magistrate, Srinagar, while addressing the gathering said Ehsaas International was among the few organizations to approach DDMA, Srinagar with the help offer and worked shoulder to shoulder with District Administration. DDMA Srinagar provided all the support they required during that period.
