Srinagar, October 18 (KNO) : It was midnight information that forces the security grid of Srinagar to prepare an immediate plan to reach Fateh Kadal area of downtown Srinagar in a bid to catch the big fish, the top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Mehrajudin Bangroo alias Piya. The Bangroo had perhaps planned a visit to this house in Fateh Kadal along with the other militant associate, Faid Waza, who lives in the vicinity—Khanyar. “We received a tip off about the presence of Bangroo in a particular house at around 1 in the midnight. The information was very specific, rather credible from a human intelligence source,” said a police officer, wishing not to be named told (KNO).“We had information that Bangroo wanted to meet his family as he had not contacted his family since he joined Lashkar-e-Toiba in April 2016 after deserting his house in Narparestan, Fateh Kadal,” he said. Bangroo, according to the police official, was a major source of headache for the forces. “He was a nuisance and we were tracking his movement. He was trying to woo youth from Srinagar in a bid to revive militancy in Srinagar where youth have rejected militancy,” he said.Talking to reporters on the sidelines of wreath laying of slain policeman Kamal Kishore of Reasi district, the DGP Dilbagh Singh admitted that Bangroo was a big catch for police and his killings was a major success.(KNO)
