Srinagar May 21 (KNO) : Remembering Shri. Rajiv Gandhi on his 27th death Anniversary, The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) in a function held at PCC Office Srinagar today, paid floral tributes to Former Prime Minister and recalled his selfless services and sacrifices to the Nation. Pradesh Congress Committee also paid glowing tributes to Late. Mirwaiz i Kashmir Moulana Mohd Farooq and Abdul Gani lone on their death anniversaries lauding their services & contributions to peace and harmony in the State.

Senior Party Functionaries, legislators and prominent party activists under the Chairmanship of MLC & Vice President J&K PCC G. N. Monga participated in the functioning and paid floral tributes to Former Prime Minister recalling the selfless services rendered by the departed leader to the Nation, The Party leaders while addressing the meeting said that the sacrifices of Rajiv Ji will continue to lead the Nation at the path of peace, harmony and development, the Nation has lost a tallest leader of the world in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, they said. Addressing the meeting MLC Gulam Nabi Monga, who presided over the meeting said that the best way to pay homage to departed leader was to follow his footsteps and work for unity, harmony and development of the Country as he (Rajiv Ji) even offered his life, but did not compromise on his commitment and conviction.

It was the Gandhi family only, which has safeguarded the secular fabric of the country by offering sacrifices, he said. Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of modern India under whose leadership the Nation touched the new heights in computer science, economy and overall development of the people from grass roots levels, Monga said. The Former Prime Minister fought against the Forces hell bent upon to damage the age old tradition of harmony and unity in the Country, he knew that conspiracies were being hatched to divide people of India on religious and regional lines inorder to grab power, but he thwarted these conspiracies and ensured that the multiplicity and secular fabric of the country was not harmed, Monga added.

Pradesh Congress Committee also paid glowing tributes to Mirwaiz I Kashmir Moulana Mohd Farooq & Ab. Gani Lone on their death anniversaries and described their assassination as a great loss to the State saying that they laid down their lives for peace and harmony. Among others who addressed the meeting included MLC Mohd Muzaffar Parray, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, Spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, General Secretary Surinder Singh Channi, Senior Leader G. N. Mir Lasjan, Zahid Husain Jan, Abdul Gani Khan, Haji Farooq Mir, Mohd Sultan, Shameema Iqbal, Irfan Naqib, G. M. Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, Imtiyaz Ahmd Khan Maroof Ahmad Wani, Sahil Farooq G.A. Gujree, Gulam Mohd Shiekh, Amir Rasool, Farhat Qureshi, Mushtaq Ahmad Bazaz, Hilal Ahmad Wani, Waseem Shalla, Mir Rovais, Gulsher Khan, Moh Ramzan Dar, Gulam Nabi Mir, Abdul Ahad Tara, Abdul Ahad Bhat, Shameema Khan, Saira Sameer, Shaheena, Haleema, Arif Maqbool,Sheikh Amir, Asif, Zulfkar Qureshi and others.
