Latter he was elected to Parliament. He was father of BJP leader Dr. Hina Bhat. Hina fought assembly elections unsuccessfully from Amira Kadal Constituency on BJP ticket and at present she is Party’s senior face District Vice President Srinagar. BJP leaders have expressed grief over his demise and have offered their deepest condolence to Dr Hina and his family .
