Kulgam, Aug 27 (KNO): A young writer and poet from South Kashmir's Kulgam district has failed to get his seven books published as the financial crunch he is facing has deprived him to make his writing public.
Shahid Fayaz Bhat alias Saqi, 21, resident of Muhammed Pora Kulgam who is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Literature at Government Degree College Kulgam while talking exclusively with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that since childhood he was fond of poetry and writing and so far has written eight books.
However, he said that seven among are yet to get published. He said that a book "the sunset in my city" was published years ago and has got a positive response from the readers.
He, however, stated the financial issue he has been facing has deprived him from getting his seven other books published.
“My mother, teacher Imtiyaz Ahmad, some religious scholars besides a person associated with Sufi Silsila are my inspirations who have helped me at each and every stage of my life,” he said.
“I have done my schooling from Government Primary School Khandaypora, Government Middle School Galwanpora Muhammed pora. I qualified class 10th exams from High School Muhammedpora and passed Class 12th from Higher Secondary Areh Kulgam,” he said.
“I have gone through very difficult stages of my life as even for my studies, my mother had to sell her valuable items due to financial crunch but has never let me down,” he said, adding that “I never lost my hope and worked as a labour to earn money so that I can continue my studies.”
“I am hopeful that I will succeed one day as success needs continuity, hard work and will power and a person can achieve any goal of life,” he said.
“My message to the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be that we are being kicked by everyone as we are empty and have lost our value. We must try to reform ourselves and show the world that we are no way less than others and compete them in every aspect and field,” he said—(KNO)
