Srinagar, Feb 02 (KNO): Veteran police officer SSP Tanveer Jeelani, renowned for his integrity and leadership, has formally entered politics by joining the Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Peoples Front (JKNPF) today. According to available details, the ceremony at the party headquarters in Partap Park was attended by senior leadership, youth representatives and party workers, underscoring the growing appeal of a political approach rooted in transparency, social justice and public welfare. As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the veteran police officer SSP Tanveer Jeelani, known for his dynamic leadership, clean image and unwavering commitment to national service, formally joined the Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Peoples Front (JKNPF) today at the party headquarters, JN-9 Press Enclave, Partab Park, Srinagar. The spokesperson said, the joining ceremony was held in the presence of JKNPF President Jasif Khan, Senior Vice President Basit Bashir Gagroo, Youth President Shiraz Ahmad Pandith, all constituency in-charges and a large number of party workers and supporters. “Welcoming SSP Tanveer Jeelani, the party leadership stated that his decision to enter public life marks a shift from authority-driven governance to service-oriented, accountable politics. They highlighted that his long career in policing reflects discipline, impartiality, and a deep understanding of the social, security, and developmental challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads the statement. It reads, addressing party members, leaders said that JKNPF stands for clean politics, social justice, youth empowerment and institutional reform, and the joining of experienced and credible personalities further strengthens this mission. They emphasized that the party is emerging as a strong platform for those who believe in nation-building, peace, and dignity of the common citizen. “The presence of senior leadership, youth representatives, and constituency heads symbolized unity across generations and regions, underlining the party’s expanding grassroots connect. Party leaders asserted that the growing momentum clearly indicates that people are looking beyond traditional and dynastic politics toward a visionary, transparent, and socially responsible political alternative.” The statement reads, the Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Peoples Front reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public interests, strengthening democratic institutions and working tirelessly for the socio-economic upliftment and lasting stability of Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
