IGP Kashmir Shri S.P Pani IPS visits DPL Srinagar, interacts with officers & jawans | KNO

Srinagar, 02 May 2018 (KNO) : IGP Kashmir Zone Shri Swayam Prakash Pani-IPS today visited District Police Lines Srinagar interacted with officers and jawans there.DIG CKR Shri V K Birdi IPS and SSP Srinagar Shri Imtiaz Ismail Parray IPS also accompanied the IGP Kashmir, besides other officers of District Srinagar were present on the occasion.

After taking salute & inspecting parade, IGP Kashmir along with other officers later visited various establishments at DPL Srinagar. At the outset, SSP Srinagar presented a note of welcome to the IGP Kashmir and briefed him about the prevailing security, law & order scenario in District Srinagar and the various initiatives taken up by the Srinagar police on various fronts like infrastructure, cleanliness, welfare measures instituted for martyr families & injured policemen and trainings to cops etc. DIG CKR in his address, stressed on the need to have professional investigation & constant training programmes since they are vital for professional policing.

While listening to the problems narrated by Jawans, IGP Kashmir assured them of their speedy redressal. While addressing the officers and jawans, IGP lauded the role played by Jammu & Kashmir police and emphasized upon adopting citizen friendly policing despite the challenging circumstances around. He also paid tribute to the police Martyrs who scarified their life in the line of duty. IGP appreciated the maintenance of DPL Srinagar premises & facilities available for the jawans. He also appreciated the drill exhibited at parade, available infrastructure & assured of full support for the welfare & improvement of infrastructure & services at DPL Srinagar.

The IGP also appraised the Jawans about the several welfare measures initiated by the Government and worthy DGP for the personnel of Police Department. Talking about the welfare measures, IGP said that welfare of Jawans has remained on top of their agenda and efforts are being made to finalize the other pending issues related to the welfare of the police personnel. IGP also informed the Jawans about several key measures undertaken by the Government related to the housing facilities, enhanced ex-gratia facilities, health policy involving better health care facilities for J&K Police personnel.

He also urged the officers & jawans to ensure fair and professional policing for bridging the gap between community and police. IGP stressed upon maintaining proficiency and transparency in the police work.
