Police Constable dies in accidental rifle discharge | KNO

Bandipora, Oct 17 (KNO): A police constable died on Friday after his service rifle accidentally discharged while he was on duty at the District Police Line (DPL) north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, officials said. Officials, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Arfeen Lone, son of Darwesh Lone, a resident of Malangam Tulail in Bandipora. According to officials, the rifle went off unexpectedly, inflicting critical injuries. Lone was rushed to the District Hospital Bandipora but was declared dead upon arrival. Meanwhile, Police have registered a formal case and begin investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accidental firing—(KNO)
