Srinagar,May 28 (KNO) : Regretting the callous and insensitive attitude of government towards long pending geniune demands of Doctors working in rural health care system of state of Jammu and Kashmir , Jk doctors are observing two hour pen down strike on 30 June from 10 am till 12 noon.

The doctors have been pleading their demands since decades at Directorate or Secretariat level peacefully till date , but it seems the authorities are least interested in resolving our issues and mere exploitation is a norm now"said president DAK Dr Suhail Naik. Understanding the sensitivity of our profession and responsibilities on our shoulders , we were very hesitant to go for pen down strike and instead projected our resentment by wearing black bands on 22nd May but it seems government is hell bent to push us to wall and are forcing us to go for indefinite strike. Therefore we are giving one last chance to government to wake from deep slumber and address our long pending geniune demands, otherwise from 25th June we will will be forced to go for indefinite strike and adverse consequences whatsoever will be solely responsibility of government Dr Naik added.

Meanwhile Dr Owais H Dar, general secretary DAK while castigating government said that they are taking us for granted and don't bother to address our demands. Further it is highly deplorable and shocking that employees who are work less than us with quite comfortable duties are being paid more than us". It is pertinent to mention that DAK had issued a protest calendar about two weeks back which started with a black band protest on 22nd May which was successfully held across the state.

The Protest Calendar issued by DAK is fully supported by J&K Doctors Coordination Committee which is an amalgam of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK), Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ), Chenab Valley Doctors Association (CVDA), Society of Consultant Doctors (SCD), Society of Dental Surgeons Jammu Kashmir(SDSJK), Private Practitioners, Ladakh Doctors Association.
