Srinagar, Oct 31 (KNO): The Power Development Department (PDD) Friday revealed that it realized revenue of Rs 376 crore from non-metered areas during the financial year 2025-26.
Minister Incharge PDD, while responding to a query by legislators, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) collected Rs 344 crore, while Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) realized Rs 32 crore during the same period.
Among KPDCL divisions, Budgam topped the list with Rs 43 crore, followed by Kulgam with Rs 36 crore and Anantnag with Rs 33 crore. Other significant contributors included Awantipora Rs 30 crore, Pulwama Rs 26 crore) and Shopian Rs 24 crore.
In Jammu region, Kathua recorded the highest revenue under JPDCL at Rs 7 crore, followed by Poonch with Rs 6 crore and Kishtwar and Rajouri with Rs 4 crore each.
Meanwhile, the minister also clarified that there has been no hike in power tariff in Jammu and Kashmir after the tariff order issued by the Electricity Regulatory Commission on November 23, 2023—(KNO)
