Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest, has strongly condemned the killing of Arif Amin Shah, son of Muhammad Amin Shah, of Nyaina Sangam and injuring dozens of civilians by the government forces at Arwani village of Islamabad district when they were protesting against the atrocities by the forces on the civilian population under the garb of an encounter. Mirwaiz has termed it as part of the campaign of state terrorism being committed against the people of Kashmir.
In a statement issued to KNS, Mirwaiz further stated that the state continues to utilize all repressive methods to muzzle voices of the Kashmiri people and its leadership. Paying rich tributes to the three martyrs, Majid Zargar, Raheel, and Waseem, who achieved martyrdom at Arwani Bijbehera, Mirwaiz said that the political situation on the ground was going from bad to worse in Kashmir and asserted that under the circumstances it is binding on the people and leadership to take the mission of martyrs forward to its logical conclusion.
Regretting the use of force against Kashmiris in north and south of Kashmir by the police, Mirwiaz said the authorities were employing all brutal methods like nocturnal raids and arresting of youth in Bandipora, Ajas, Pulwama and other places, to weaken the movement. He condemned the current phase of state sponsored terrorism in Kashmir.
In the meantime senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza attended the funeral prayers of the three martyrs on behalf of Hurriyat leadership and expressed his condolences and pledged to take the mission of martyrs forward.
Meanwhile Mirwaiz has expressed shock and grief over the fatal air crash in north Pakistan which led to the killing of 47 people on board.
While conveying his heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the bereaved families and the people of Pakistan, Mirwaiz termed the air crash incident as unfortunate and regrettable incident, adding, it led to the death of 47 people including the famous Naat Khwan Junaid Jamsheed. Mirwaiz has prayed for the departed souls.
While expressing his serious concern over the continuous harassment of Kashmiri students studying in various professional colleges outside Kashmir by the communal forces, Chairman Hurriyat (M) Mirwiaz Dr. Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq has stated that it gives an impression that such forces have formulated a ploy to keep Kashmiri students bereft of education by constantly threatening and bullying them. Drawing his attention to the grave problem, Mirwaiz stated that recently some goons belonging to right wing groups entered the premises of Combined Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun, where half a dozen Kashmiri students were thrashed by the goons. While expressing his concern over the rising incidents of such nature in India, Mirwaiz condemned the thrashing of students at Dehradun and asked the concerned authorities to ensure their security.
