Large amount for retired employees including GP Fund, gratuity pending: Govt | KNO

Srinagar, Oct (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government has admitted that large amounts are pending for retired employees, including GP Fund, gratuity, commutation and leave salary. The information was shared in reply to a question by MLA Tariq Hameed Karra, who asked about pending retirement payments and the time frame to clear them. As per the government reply, per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), pending dues up to October 22, 2025 include GP Fund Rs 2390 crore, Gratuity Rs 1537 crore, Commutation Rs 332 crore and Leave Salary Rs 209 crore. The government said payments are being released in a phased manner depending on fund availability. It also mentioned that priority cases related to health issues, marriage, tuition fees of children and pilgrimage are being cleared on priority through designated officers in Srinagar and Jammu. It further stated that during the current financial year, bills worth over Rs 3700 crore related to retirement benefits have already been cleared—(KNO)
