No rent from workers, migrants in Poonch, employers asked to release salaries | KNO

Poonch, Mar 29 (KNO): District Magistrate Poonch on Sunday issued fresh orders for landlords and employers of workers and migrant laborers. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), an order issued by the District Magistrate Poonch Rahul Yadav asked all Tehsildars to provide temporary shelters and provision of food for the poor and needy people including migrant laborers stranded due to lockdown in Poonch district. The migrant who have moved out to reach their homes should be kept in quarantine facilities for fourteen days after proper screening, order reads, asking all the employer, commercial establishments and industrial unit owners to pay wages of the workers at their work places on the due date without any kind of deduction. The District Magistrate have also ordered the landlords and property owners not to demand rent for one month from tenants especially to migrants and workers. The District Magistrate have further stated that any violation in this regard shall be treated as liable to action under Disaster Management Act 2005.
