Replying to the concern expressed by MLC Firdous Tak in Legislative Council, the Chief Minister said that the government was mulling to extend benefits of amnesty to stone pelters, who are booked under more than one FIR. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that state government was reviewing the cases of second time offenders involved in stone pelting protests. Replying to the concern expressed by MLC Firdous Tak in Legislative Council, the Chief Minister said that the government was mulling to extend benefits of amnesty to stone pelters, who are booked under more than one FIR. "Our government is currently reviewing the cases of first-time offenders," she said. “We are engaging their parents and families so that these offenders, who are mostly youth, do not engage in such activities again,” said Mehbooba.
