Srinagar, Jan 25 (KNO): Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughal, a decorated IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre and a son of the soil, has been awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughal has been conferred with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services, the announcement of which was made today.
A native of Bhaderwah in Doda district, Dr. Mughal-who holds a doctorate in botany (biosciences) from Jamia Hamdard University-has held crucial postings in both Kashmir and Jammu regions.
Dr. Mughal has served as district police chief of Handwara, Kishtwar, Baramulla, Rajouri, and Srinagar. He served as SSP Srinagar during the crucial period between 2019 and 2021.
He has also served as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Operations), SSP Vigilance Jammu, SSP CID Kashmir, and SSP Traffic National Highway. After his promotion, he was posted as DIG Rajouri-Poonch range between 2022 and 2024. He is currently serving as DIG Traffic Jammu.
Earlier, he was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services, the Police Medal for Gallantry (three times), the J&K Police Medal for Meritorious Services, and the J&K Police Medal for Gallantry.
He has also received commendation discs from the Army Commander, DGP J&K, Vice Chief of Naval Staff, and DG CRPF—(KNO)
