Baramulla, Aug 21 (KNO): Inhabitants of Salamabad area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district here have accused the Roads and Building Department (R&B) of using poor quality material during macadamization of the roads.
Residents of Salamabad Uri alleged that days after the roads were macadamized; it has started developing potholes, which clearly indicated that poor quality material has been used during macadamizatin process.
A local resident while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the department of R&B macadamized the link roads of a village but unfortunately sub-standard material has been used, which left the roads damaged within a short span of time.
Locals appealed to the district administration to intervene and demanded an inquiry to verify whether poor quality material has been used by the department. They also demanded that the road should be macadamized at earliest and that too as per the engineering guidelines.
Meanwhile, Officials in the R&B department told KNO they will look into the matter. “The road will be repaired in case the poor quality would be found used during the macadamization process,” they said—(KNO)
