Demonstrators angered over U.S. airstrikes in Syria took to the streets Friday outside Trump Tower in Midtown.

About 100 people hoisted signs and marched along Fifth Ave., voicing their outrage over President Trump’s decision to target a Syrian air base.

“Trump has no right to drop bombs on the people in the nation of Syria,” said protester Sunsara Taylor.

“It is a lie for Donald Trump to say he had a change of heart. This is a man who said he would gleefully bomb the hell out of the Middle East.”

Protesters later marched to Union Square Park, where a large crowd chanted: “U.S. imperialist, number one terrorist!” Several people held signs that read: “Money for Jobs, Schools & Healthcare not war in Syria!” and “Hands Off Syria!”

As the backlash grew, the Trump administration signaled new sanctions would soon follow the missile attack, and the Pentagon was probing whether Russia itself was involved in the chemical weapons assault that compelled the President to action.

The strike — which included some 60 cruise missiles fired from two ships in the Mediterranean — signaled a major change for Trump, who has long opposed deeper U.S. involvement in Syria’s civil war.

The attack against the Syrian air base was the first U.S. assault against the government of President Bashar Assad.

Near 25th St. and Fifth Ave., tensions flared between NYPD officers monitoring the rally and protesters.

A group of people tussled with cops and a few even threw punches. At least two people were seen being detained.

The protestors expressed outrage in the wake of the President's sudden change in policy.

At least seven people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, according to the NYPD.

The protest at Trump Tower was organized by a group called ANSWER Coalition, an anti-war and anti-racism group, while the rally at Union Square was organized by the International Action Center.

“U.S. intervention has never brought about peace and democracy in other countries,” said 24-year-old Nina Macapinlac. “This farce that by bombing Syria you’re going to be able to bring about democracy is not true.

“We’re here to say that the U.S. has no right to be in other countries, because countries should be able to assert their right to self-determination.”

As night fell a few dozen demonstrators made their way through the streets of lower Manhattan, blocking traffic and chanting loudly “1234 we don't want a racist war, 5678, Syria is a sovereign state!” and “Trump says more war, we say no war!”
