Tight security in place for successful I-Day in North Kashmir: DIG | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNO): With just a day to go for Independence Day, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, North Kashmir Range, on Wednesday said the security arrangements were intact and in full compliance with security protocols. DIG, Maqsood-Ul-Zaman, while speaking to reporters during a security review, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements being put in place across the region ahead of Independence Day celebrations. “I am quite satisfied with the arrangements. The arrangements are intact and all the security protocols have been followed,” DIG Zaman said. On the situation along the Line of Control, he said security forces are already on high alert. “All the measures are being made to ensure successful Independence Day celebrations,” he added. The review comes amid heightened vigil across North Kashmir, with intensified checking, area domination and joint patrolling by police, Army and paramilitary forces in sensitive areas—(KNO)
