Paying glowing tributes to Muhammad Afzal Guru on his 4th martyrdom anniversary and Muhammad Maqbool Bhat on his 33rd martyrdom anniversary, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC)Wednesday said their sacrifices for the just and rightful struggle were remarkable, unforgettable and etched in the minds of people.

A statement of APHC appealed people to make the programmes given by the unified resistance leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik a success by observing complete shutdown on February 9, the martyrdom anniversary of Guru, and February 11, the martyrdom anniversary of Bhat, and marching from Lal Chowk to the United Nations (UNMOGIP) office at Sonwar on February 10.
The statement said for the fulfillment of their right to self determination, tens and thousands of people of Kashmir had offered selfless sacrifices of their lives but the martyrdom of Guru and Bhat were unique, exceptional and matchelss as these sacrifices had breathed a new life in Kashmir’s resistance struggle.
The APHC statement said the mission of these martyrs would be fulfilled only when the entire nation shows dedication and unity and remains steadfast and consistent for fructifying the pious task.
The statement said Government of India and its puppets in Jammu Kashmir were trying their best to trample the resistance struggle with their undemocratic and inhumane tactics and using all resources at its disposal but all these tactics would yield nothing for the oppressors if the nation shows steadfastness and consistency in its resolve.
The APHC statement said the best way of paying tributes to Guru, Bhat and other martyrs was to remain united and to beware and foil all designs with intentions to harm the ongoing resistance movement.
Demanding the return of mortal remains of Guru and Bhat to the Kashmiri nation, the APHC statement appealed the emancipated and justice-loving nations and people of the world to take note of the anti-democratic and inhuman tactics adopted by India on Kashmiris by playing a role in helping Kashmiri nation get back mortal remains of these martyrs.
