Tangmarg, Jun 03 (KNO): Amid soaring temperatures across several parts of the country, Kashmir's famed tourist destination Drung in Tangmarg has emerged as a refreshing retreat for visitors seeking cooler temperatures and natural beauty. Tourists from various states visiting the Valley said the pleasant weather, scenic landscapes and peaceful atmosphere have made their Kashmir trip memorable, with many describing the region as unmatched among tourist destinations. Sania, a tourist from Lucknow, told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that she was impressed by the beauty of Kashmir after visiting Drung, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Srinagar. "There is no match to Kashmir. I am enjoying the temperature and the peaceful atmosphere here. Every place we visited was beautiful and refreshing," she said. The tourist said the Valley offered a welcome escape from the scorching temperatures prevailing in many parts of the country and urged others to experience Kashmir's unique charm. Another visitor, Sonal from Ahmedabad, who was travelling with a group of 12 people, described Kashmir as "Paradise on Earth" and said the experience had exceeded their expectations. "The weather is wonderful, and the people are very welcoming. Those who have not visited Kashmir should definitely come here and see its beauty for themselves," she said. Members of her group echoed similar views, saying the Valley offered an experience unlike any other destination. "If you missed Kashmir, you missed a paradise-like experience. Everything here is beautiful. Whatever people may hear from outside, the reality is different. This is a place everyone should visit," they said. Drung, known for its crystal-clear stream and lush green surroundings, is situated around 3 kilometres from Tangmarg and about 16 kilometres from the world-famous Gulmarg resort. The destination, while it attracts visitors during summer for its cool weather, is equally famous for its winter transformation when the stream partially freezes, creating stunning icicles and ice formations that draw tourists from across the country—(KNO)
