Kupwara, Sep 04 (KNO): At least 15 government employees were found absent from duty during a surprise inspection of various offices in Karnah subdivision. The inspection was carried out by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Zaffar Ahmed Lone, following multiple complaints of absenteeism from the public. Official informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the absentees belonged to several departments including Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Food and Supplies, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Social Welfare and Sheep and Animal Husbandry, among others. “During the surprise inspection, as many 15 employees were found absent from their duties. We will be taking disciplinary action against them as per rules”, SDM Lone said. The SDM further warned that strict action will follow in case of further instances of absenteeism, adding that Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been directed to ensure no employee remains unauthorized absent from their respective offices. “This kind of negligence will not be tolerated. Employees must remain punctual and committed to their responsibilities", he stressed—(KNO)
