Srinagar, Jun 22 (KNO): The much-anticipated Gandbal Srinagar bridge, which was the site of a tragic incident in April this year, is scheduled to be completed and opened to the public in the first week of July, according to officials. An official from the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the construction of the Gandbal bridge is progressing rapidly and is on track for completion by early July. This bridge garnered significant attention in April when a boat capsized in the Jhelum River, resulting in the deaths of eight people, with one person still missing. Chief Engineer of the R&B department, Sajad Ahmad Naqeeb, confirmed to KNO that the Gandbal bridge is expected to be ready for public use by the first week of July. “The work is going on and will be completed on time,” he said—(KNO)
