Srinagar, Aug 22 (KNO): Awami Itihad Party (AIP) Thursday announced list of nine candidates for south Kashmir for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a press conference AIP chief spokesperson Imam Un Nabi, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the selection has been made after extensive consultations with the common people and civil society. He said that the party intends to contest the elections independently and will not form any alliance with other political parties in Kashmir. "A list of 9 candidates for south Kashmir has been framed after due consultation with common people and civil society," he said. He said the party is also preparing to release its manifesto in the coming days, following further internal discussions. Regarding the release of party chief Engineer Rashid, he said that hearing for his bail is scheduled for August 28, and they are hopeful of his release. According to party spokesperson, Abdul Qayoom Mir will contest from Pampore, Dr Harbaksh Singh from Tral, Sofi Iqbal from Pulwama, Molvi Fayaz Wagay from Zainapora, Shopian, Mohammad Arif Dar from DH Pora, Kulgam, Dr Suhail Bhat from Devsar, Kulgam, Hilal Ahmad Malik from Dooru, Anantnag, Aqib Mushtaq from Anantnag West and Tawseef Nisar from Anantnag 144—(KNO)
