Sopore, Sep 26 (KNO): Authorities on Tuesday held a meeting with trade unions in Sopore urging them to remove encroachments from public places within three days.
The move followed a day after news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reported about the encroachment of footpaths and public spaces in Sopore causing inconvenience to people.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, SA Raina on Tuesday convened a meeting with the traders associations in Sopore, asking them to remove the encroachment within three days positively, failing which action would be taken against them.
A comprehensive meeting with the Traders Association of Sopore, Dangiwacha, Watergam and Rohama areas of the sub-division with regard to ensuring smooth flow of transport as well as clearing of the footpath was held. The meeting chaired by Additional DC Sopore was attended by CEO Municipal Council Sopore, Executive Engineer R&B Division Sopore, all the concerned Tehsildar's, ARTO Baramulla, and concerned SHO's including Station House Officer Sopore and Dangiwacha, an official said.
