Srinagar, Apr 08 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday disclosed that funds amounting to Rs 2.92 crore under Salary Arrears remained unpaid and lapsed in Baramulla district during the financial year 2024-25. The revelation as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), came to fore through a response to a query by MLA Surinder Kumar, who sought information regarding the average timeframe for bill payments through treasuries, and specific details of any lapsed funds from Baramulla. In a written reply, the Finance department stated that “the bills submitted for payment at treasuries are cleared regularly as per availability of resources.” However, it further added that despite submission, salary arrear bills worth Rs 2.92 crore under designated object heads could not be cleared due to resource constraints and were ultimately lapsed at the close of the financial year—(KNO)
