Pulwama, Jun 08 (KNO): The residents of Uthamula Pulwama on Saturday met the Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain at District Police Lines (DPL) Pulwama, demanding change in the concerned police station.
The demand was raised by a delegation of the Uthamula residents, who met the Jammu and Kashmir Police chief at Peoples Grievance Redressal Programme (PGRP) today.
Inhabitants told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Uthamula area falls in Pulwama district but at the same time, it falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Keegam, Shopian, which according to them is forcing them to face hardships.
Uthamula belongs to Rajpora tehsil of Pulwama but it falls under the jurisdiction of police station Keegam Shopian, they said.
They said that for simple work in the tehsil office and police station they have to visit two districts that take heavy toll on them.
The delegation later urged DGP to change their concerned police station from Keegam Shopian to Rajpora Pulwama so that they could heave a sigh of relief—(KNO)
