Bijbehara, Dec 02 (KNO): For the first time, a film shooting was carried out in the Bijbehara town of Anantnag district on Tuesday. A crew from outside along with a local production house arrived here in the morning to shoot a short movie based on Kashmiri willow. Nadeem Khawaja, Assistant Line Producer, told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that their team is shooting in Bijbehara. “The coordination and support from police has made the shoot successful.” “We are working smoothly and we are receiving wonderful hospitality from the people of Kashmir. The public has given us immense love and warmth,” Nadeem said. He further said that their team has lined up several projects that are supposed to be shot here during the winter season. “We have also planned to shoot in snowfall. We have a Kashmir based production house and we coordinate with crews from outside to facilitate their shoots,” he said. “The location where we took shorts today for the movie is an achievement because I believe that the shooting here is quite difficult. This is the first time any shoot has taken place in this area. Police made excellent security arrangements and I am very grateful to them,” he said. He said that the LG administration’s swift action restored the normalcy in Kashmir after the Baisaran Pahalgam terror attack that helped a lot in reviving the film shooting activities. “Earlier, no one even was willing to come here, but nowadays, we are witnessing film and other production shoots happening across Kashmir.” He said the film industry can help in creating livelihood opportunities. “The situation is such that even educated youth are working as roadside vendors. We want them to earn through good platforms. This is a big field and we are trying to promote it.” Khawaja urged the government to streamline permissions and other related procedures. “The government should pay attention and resolve these issues so that line producers do not face problems in future.”—(KNO)
