CBI urges public to report corruption, seeks wide awareness campaign | KNO

Srinagar, Mar 22 (KNO): The Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) Srinagar, has urged the public to actively participate in combating corruption by reporting any demands for bribes or corrupt activities by government officials. In a letter addressed to the Joint Director, Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)—the agency has requested wide publicity of its anti-corruption message in leading Urdu and English newspapers of the Kashmir Valley for three consecutive days. The message urged citizens not to pay bribes and to report any corruption-related complaints to the SSP, Anti-Corruption Branch, CBI Srinagar. Complaints can be lodged via phone at 0194-2455514 (landline) or 9419900977 (mobile), as well as through email at hobacsgr@cbi.gov.in. “Do not pay a bribe to anyone. If any officer or official of any government office demands a bribe, or if you have any information about corruption, or if you are a victim of corruption, please make a complaint to the SSP, Anti-Corruption Branch, CBI Srinagar. Say no to corruption. Be a leader in eradicating the menace of corruption. Issued in public interest,” the CBI's message reads. Additionally, the initiative aims to raise awareness and encourage public participation in ensuring transparency and accountability in government offices—(KNO)
