Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNO): The Crime & Criminals Tracking Network and Systems CCTNS project is aimed at modernising the police force and to ensure people friendly policing in Jammu and Kashmir, reveals Vision Document 2024.
The document, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that by the nature of the work being done by the Police organisation, there is a direct interaction with the people and therefore the strategies to be adopted are required to be people-friendly while addressing various issues.
“The aim of the Police Organisation is to create an environment enhancing the interaction opportunities between the people and the police in a seamless manner through the introduction of modern technologies,” the document said, adding that the implementation of CCTNS is one such measures where the common citizen can access the details of different Reporting Systems online.
It was expected that by June 2023, CCTNS would be fully functional for access by the common citizen. “Similarly the interactions between the police and citizens would be progressively upscale and improved in the coming years making it more robust and effective,” the document reads—(KNO)
