Srinagar, Aug 08 (KNO): Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Tashi Rabstan on Thursday commended the women’s cricket, saying it provides much-needed exposure to them in the region.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Justice Tashi, speaking during the final match of the Kashmir Women’s Cricket League at Srinagar’s Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, said, "It is a pleasure for me to be part of this significant event. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the organisers, officials and the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association for their efforts in promoting women’s cricket in the valley."
He said women in Kashmir have long been deprived of opportunities to showcase their talents. However, events like these, organised by the army, provide a vital platform for young women to compete and display their skills, Justice Tashi said.
The Chief Justice hailed the "tremendous potential and talent" among the players. "I wish them all the best in their future endeavours and look forward to seeing many more tournaments dedicated to the women of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added—(KNO)
