Committed to work for welfare of Armed Forces: CM Omar Abdullah on 'Veterans Day' event in Akhnoor | KNO

Akhnoor, Jan 14 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Tuesday expressed gratitude of Armed Forces for their selfless services to the national and Jammu and Kashmir in particular and also said that the government is committed to working for the welfare of the armed forces. During his address at the 'Veterans Day' event in Akhnoor, Omar Abdullah, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said the Armed Forces given their lives to the nation; have taken care of this country. "It is our duty to work for you and your families whenever you face any problem," he said. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, ministers Satish Sharma, Javid Rana, MP Jugal Kishor Sharma, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, GOC Northern Command Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar were also presented on the occasion. The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of recognising the contributions of armed forces personnel, noting that their dedication was the foundation of the nation's security and progress. "It is because of you that we are excelling. I assure you that the government will work for you. Recruitment, financial schemes, our administration will support you in every way possible," he added. Highlighting the inclusive nature of his cabinet, Abdullah said, "In my cabinet, there is a minister who comes from an Army family. We will work with that understanding and perspective to address your concerns."—(KNO)
