Srinagar, Jun 29 (KNO): After the decline in Covid-19 positive cases in the valley, the Tourism Department Kashmir kick starts the river rafting in Wusun Area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Tuesday. Director Tourism Dr. G. N. Itoo told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that after the Covid pandemic hit the valley along with the other parts of the world, the tourism department has kick-started the adventurous sports activity of river rafting at Wusan area of district Ganderbal. "The event has started for the first time after the Covid-19 pandemic in the valley. It is an effort to review the adventure tourism in the valley which also has great potential," he said. He further said since the Covid situation is also stabilising, tourists are also showing the interest to visit the valley as tour and travel operators are also receiving queries. "However any tourism activity in the valley will take place under Covid-19 Sops and guidelines," he said. An official said that this adventure tourism activity is run by the private players after getting permission from the tourism department. "However since the pandemic this adventure activity was on halt. Now, the department has extended the support to the players," an official said. On the occasion Director Tourism Dr G. N. Itoo, who was accompanied by the other officials from the department, also took the review of the Covid-19 arrangements, and further directed to ensure that Covid-19 Sops are followed strictly—(KNO)
