Srinagar, July 26(KNO): District Development Council (DDC) member and the Haj Corporation of India (HCoI) member Er Aijaz Hussain led a team of Medical experts and engineering wing to Balhama, Srinagar, where land for the Primary Health Centre (PHC) was identified and directions passed for preparing immediate Detailed Project Report (DPR) so that work could be started forthwith. In a statement issued here to news agency--Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Er Aijaz said that he along with the team of health experts and Engineering wing inspected the land identified for the construction of PHC at Balhama, Srinagar. Er Aijaz said that the land was already identified and today, the teams of Health and Engineering wing including AEE were directed to prepare the DPR for immediate construction of PHC for the relief of people. Er Aijaz said that there has been a long pending demand of people of Balhama and other adjoining areas about setting up of a PHC for addressing the health needs of people including children. Er Aijaz said that in absence of PHC in the area, people including elderly and children have to travel to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment etc. He said that once the PHC will be established, people of not just Balhama but other adjoining areas including Zawoora, Befina, Zafran Colony and Zewan will be able to get their health related issues settled within a shortest possible distance. The health and Engineering wing officials asured the DDC member timely completion of DPR and starting of work on PHC on fast track basis within stipulated time frame. Er Aijaz said that he will personally pursue the issue and ensure that the DPR of the project is finalsied as soon as possible so that people could get benefits of the Health Centre. Meanwhile, Er Aijaz visited Zawoora area of Srinagar and listened to the grievances raised by the locals of the area. Er Aijaz gave them a patient hearing and assured them timely redressal of the grievances---(KNO)
