Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNO): The third of Ramzan was observed with profound reverence in Srinagar as devotees gathered at the historic Naqshband Sahib to commemorate the death anniversary of Hazrat Fatima (RA), the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Addressing a Majlis Waaz-o-Tableeg on the occasion, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paid rich tribute to her enduring legacy and called for a renewed commitment to moral strength, family values, and character-building as the foundation of a healthy and resilient society. Sharing details with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said on the third of Ramzan, the death anniversary of Hazrat Fatima (RA), the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), was observed with deep devotion and reverence. “In keeping with tradition, a Majlis Waaz-o-Tableeg was held at Naqshband Sahib, where Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Molvi Umar Farooq delivered a sermon to commemorate her life and pay tribute to her enduring legacy.” Addressing the gathering, Mirwaiz, as per the statement highlighted that Hazrat Fatima (RA) remains a timeless symbol of dignity, faith and moral strength. He stressed her profound role as a daughter, wife and mother, noting that the foundation of a strong family and a healthy society is built within the home. At a time when moral values are steadily declining and material pursuits increasingly overshadow spiritual principles, he said, the life of Hazrat Fatima (RA) offers vital guidance for the community. Mirwaiz further stated that as a daughter, she was deeply devoted to her father, standing by him during times of hardship and offering unwavering comfort and support. As a wife, she fostered harmony, patience, and mutual respect within her household, demonstrating that strong families are founded on compassion, sacrifice, and shared responsibility. “As a mother, she nurtured her children with faith, strong character, and resilience, raising personalities who became guiding lights for the Ummah. He stressed that the upbringing of children is not merely a duty but a sacred trust and that mothers play a central role in shaping the moral and spiritual direction of future generations,” the statement reads. It further reads, in conclusion, Mirwaiz urged the community to revive the values of faith, simplicity, and character-building within their homes, drawing inspiration from the life of Hazrat Fatima (RA) to strengthen families and safeguard the moral fabric of society—(KNO)
