Srinagar, Nov 19 (KNO): The employees of the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) have alleged that promotions are being made bypassing standard procedures, while due processes are being overlooked. Several employees who spoke with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) alleged that some persons have been promoted out of turn at the Directorate level. This has led to discontent among employees who were rightfully due for promotion, they claimed. They said if around 300 employees are eligible for promotion, the process should be based on seniority rather than granting promotions arbitrarily. The employees claimed that in time-bound promotions, which are supposed to occur within a defined timeframe, DHSK has been promoting a single individual out of turn, while others who have met the criteria have been ignored. Many have raised concerns about alleged favouritism and lack of transparency, claiming that certain individuals are being promoted despite not meeting the required qualifications or seniority criteria. This has led to significant resentment among several officers, particularly those who feel bypassed by these unexpected promotions and appointments, they said. Employees have called for a thorough investigation into the decision-making processes at DHSK to ensure fairness and adherence to established rules. Such practices undermine morale within the department and raise serious questions about accountability in managing public health services, they said. Employees have urged the Minister for Health and Medical Education, as well as the Secretary of the Health and Medical Education Department, to take immediate action to address the issue and restore confidence in the promotion process—(KNO)
