Sopore, Aug 22 (KNO): Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, SA Raina on Tuesday said the administration is committed to the overall development of the town once known as ‘Chhota London’ and the efforts are on to regain its past glory. The ADC, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), made these remarks while chairing a public grievance camp at the Krankshivan Colony of the historic town. He assured of early redressal of public issues and sought people’s cooperation. During the public darbar-cum-grievance camp, Raina listened to various issues and demands of the people meant for the overall welfare and development of the area. The people across the locality, which comprises at least 10 mohallas including Nigeen Bagh, Alamdar, Bagh-e-Islam, etc showed their enthusiastic participation in the programme. On the occasion, the coordination committee demanded the availability of potable drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, road connectivity, transport and other matters of vital public significance. They also highlighted the issues like health, education and other important necessities. The ADC, who was accompanied by other officials from the line departments including Roads and Buildings (R&B), listened to the grievances and demands put forth by the committee and assured that all the issues shall be taken with the concerned authorities for timely redressal. Talking to KNO, Raina said the administration is committed to the overall development of Sopore town. He, however, said that achieving this goal requires cooperation from all sections of society. The ADC urged everyone to join hands and contribute towards making Sopore a better town and a green and clean place. “The grievances put forth by the concerned stakeholders will be seriously looked into and redressed within the shortest possible time,” he said—(KNO)
