Srinagar, Aug 26 (KNO): As part of his public outreach program, young BJP leader and DDC member from Khonmoh area of Srinagar, today visited Padshahi Bagh area of the city and met various public delegations there who apprised him a series of issued they are confronted with. Er Aijaz was accompanied by vice chairman DDC Srinagar Bilal Ahmed. As per news agency--Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the locals of the area explained Er Aijaz that there was no representative of Srinagar municipality and it wasn’t clear whether the area was part of rural Srinagar or urban Srinagar as all the political leaders belonging to various political parties have deceived them on one or the other pretext. The area is just 2.5 kms away from city centre Lal chowk. The locals told Er Aijaz and DDC VC Bilal Ahmed that roads have been in shambles and dilapidated condition since past many decades as all the successive regimes and political leaders played vote bank politics and did nothing on ground. The locals also briefed Er Aijaz and DDC VC Bilal Ahmed about poor drainage system and lack of clean drinking water in the area. The inhabitants of Padshahi Bagh also apprised Er Aijaz that children and elderly were facing problems while walking on the roads that have developed cracks and potholes. They also stated that the previous regimes couldn’t clarify whether Padshahi Bagh area was part of rural or urban Srinagar due to which no development took place in the area. Locals also said given the poor condition of roads, there was no public transport facility in the area due to which elderly, sick and children including students were facing immense hardships. Pertinently, Er Aijaz has been conducting extensive tours of various parts of city including Lal Chowk and Sonwar Assembly segments since past many days to listen to the grievances of people and to take up the same with the concerned authorities for immediate redressal. Er Aijaz assured the people of Padshahi Bagh that their genuine grievances will be taken up with the concerned quarters and he will personally pursue the issues confronting them for timely redressal. He acknowledged that roads in the area were in a bad condition and need immediate repair and mecdamisation. Locals thanked Er Aijaz and DDC VC Bilal Ahmed for paying a visit to Padhshahi Baghand meeting people-(KNO)
