Srinagar, July 25(KNO): Senior BJP leader and party’s DDC member for Khonmoh Thursday held a detailed deliberations with the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Owais Ahmed Rana at his office in Srinagar and discussed a series of issues having great public importance including introducing the smart bus services in Zawoora, Zafran Colony, Khonmoh and Balhama from Lal Chowk and Pantha Chowk. In a statement issued here, Er Aijaz said that he met SMC Commissioner in his office chambers and held detailed deliberations on various issues having great public importance. “I discussed the introduction of smart city bus services for various areas that are facing public transport issues which include Zawoora, Zafran Colony, Khonmoh and Balhama. I urged the SMC Commissioner to start the services from either Pantha Chowk or directly from Lal Chowk or Batamaloo in the larger public interests,” Er Aijaz said, adding that “the locals residing in these areas have been urging me since long through their written representations and verbal communications that they are facing immense issues in absence of public transport services.” Er Aijaz said that the SMC Commissioner gave him a patient hearing and assured that smart bus services will be started in the areas for the relief of general public and students living in these areas. The BJP leader also sought macadamisation of the areas that are still pending including link roads of Athwajan, Pandrethan, Allochi Bagh, SD colony , Solina, Sonwar, Zafran Colony, Khonmoh, Zawoora and other adjoining areas of the Lal Chowk Assembly segment. The BJP leader also sought proper rehabilitation of vendors of Makah market and Hari Singh High Street and sought proper space with rent agreements for the vendors so that their livelihood is guaranteed and protected and are able to maintain the places and can avail the benefits of central government schemes. He said that the SMC Commissioner gave him a positive response and assured him that macadamisation has been the priority of the government and many roads have already macadamised and many roads have been approved and are under tendering process and the roads which have been left will be improved soon . The young leader also raked up the issues discussed with him by the locals of various areas of Lal Chowk constituency during his public outreach program in the past over three months and sought the immediate timely redressal of all the issues that includes laying of tiles in inner links to SD colony , Baranpather ,Allochibagh and Solina ,, repairing of lanes and by-lanes, mecdadmisation of interior road links and introducing the smart bus services etc. Later, Er Aijaz expressed his gratitude to SMC Commissioner for giving a patient hearing to public demands and assuring timely redressal--(KNO)
