Srinagar, May 24 (KNO): The foreign delegates, who are part of the G-20 summit Wednesday, visited the newly renovated Polo View market in Srinagar and bought pashmina, craft items and other stuff. The delegates hailed people of Srinagar for their hospitality and stated that the city’s green view was breath-taking. Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the delegates started their day with Yoga at Lalit hotel. The delegates had their lunch at Hotel Lalit here after which they visited the first wire-free and the newly renovated exclusive pedestrian market of J&K—Polo View in the heart of Srinagar, where they spent almost an hour amid rainfall and also bought some clothes and other things. Just before leaving the market, they spoke to the media persons in the market and expected a good outcome from the G20 Summit. Mexican Ambassador, Ricardo Daniel Delgado Munoz said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played an active role as far as the G20 summit is concerned and that the event is top priority for Mexico. As per KNO, Munoz also said that his country will participate in these events as much as possible. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played an active role in the summit and that they are amazed by meetings, side events and the meetings with local chambers. “All the active roles would be beneficial for India and other countries as well,” he said. He, however, didn't respond to the non-participation of China in the event at Srinagar, but said that G20 is top priority for Mexico. “As much as possible, we want to participate in these events,” he added. Moreover, Netherlands Envoy Jochem Wiers stated that they are expecting a good outcome from the G20 Summit as India has done good work. Kashmir is a beautiful place and the government had made the best arrangements for them during their 3-day stay in Srinagar, he said, adding that they are expecting a good outcome of the G20 meeting as India has done good work and they are looking forward to a meeting in Goa. “I have bought a Pashmina Shawl and other stuff from the market,” he added. Furthermore, Korean Envoy, who also visited the market, said that Kashmir is very unique and different from any other places in the world and it has beautiful nature, food and hospitality. “I didn’t know much about Kashmir before coming to India, but coming here in Kashmir and experiencing myself, I could tell everybody to come and explore,” she said. The delegates also visited the famous Mughal Garden Nishat and Pari Mahal overlooking Dal lake. Many women delegates were seen wearing Kashmiri traditional attire and posing for photographs. Visibly happy delegates were mesmerised by the natural beauty of Mughal gardens. The male delegates also visited the Royal Springs Golf Course. A few of them played golf for some time.
