Ganderbal, Jan 09 (KNO): Inhabitants of Baba Dariya Din in Ganderbal district Monday complained about lack of development in their village, causing them inconvenience. The villagers alleged that they had been neglected by the successive regimes and the remote area had lagged much behind on the development front. They said the village lacked basic facilities like electricity, mobile connectivity and potable water supply. “In the modern era, when smartphones are easily available to all, basic amenities like potable drinking water, streets, roads, medical, transportation, electricity and network connectivity are a distant dream to us,” Bilal Ahmad a local told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He said that the government has failed to address the problems of common masses forcing many families to shift to other locations. Mushtaq Ahmad, another local, said that there are many problems in the village, but the crisis of drinking water has been unresolved for decades. They requested the concerned authorities to look into the matter at the earliest and provide basic facilities to the area so that they too could avail benefits of development. DDC Ganderbal C Molvi Mohd Yousuf admitted the village is without some basic facilities and said that issues were highlighted by him recently during the visit of top government officials there. "I hope that the problems of these basic facilities of the village will be solved very soon," he said—(KNO)
