The Gangabal Lake, also called Haramukh Ganga, is an alpine high-altitude oligotrophic lake situated at the foot of Mount Haramukh in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, IndiaTourists The trek, starting at an elevation of 12,000 feet, begins from Shutkadi Sonamarg in Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district. This annual event spans 70 days, offering trekkers a remarkable combination of natural beauty and outdoor adventure.. A local guide, Umer Ahmad praised the area’s beautiful landscape, and emphasized Gangabal and Veshansar lakes as major attractions. “The serenity and stunning views are what make this destination so appealing to tourists,” he added. Pertinently, as the season unfolds, the local economy is expected to thrive due to the influx of tourists, providing a much-needed economic boost to the region.
