Locals from Lam area of Aripal said that Gujjar Saran is a very beautiful place but needs government attention. They said that the area is as beautiful as Pahalgam but the government has failed to give it connectivity due to which very few people visit the area. Locals said that hundreds of youth visit the area on a daily basis in summer but they have to go by foot for about two kilometers as the place has no road connectivity from Lam village. They said that Gujjar Saran is a lush green forest and a canal there has very pure water due to which more people are getting attracted towards it. Locals requested the tourism department to develop it as a tourist destination which can become a source of livelihood for local people. “People of the area are financially very weak and if the government can put it on a tourism map, it can help in the development of the area as well,” they said. “We request higher ups to look into the matter at earliest and bring this site on a tourism map which can help the government to generate revenue and welfare of the locality,” they said.
