Srinagar, July 18 (KNO): The road at Darya Din Colony in the Gulab Bagh area of Srinagar is in shambles, with residents accusing the authorities of failing to complete the long-pending repair work for the last nine months.
The residents while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said the authorities dug the drainage system nine months ago but have neglected the road since then without conducting proper dusting and macadamization.
“We are facing severe problems as nearly 100 households reside here. During rainfall, it becomes impossible for us to leave our houses,” they said.
“At school times, we have to pick and drop our children at the main road because the school buses and vans refuse to enter our lane due to the deplorable road condition,” the residents said
“We can't even park our cars inside our houses as they get stuck in the mud; we have to call a tractor to pull them out,” they added.
They have requested the authorities to kindly look into the matter as urgent and start proper macadamization of the road. (KNO)
