Gulmarg, Jan 26 (KNO): A technical snag disrupted operations of the Gulmarg Gondola in its first phase on Sunday, leaving several tourists stranded in the cabins mid-air, even as officials stated that there's nothing to worry. Reliable sources informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the issue occurred when the rope slipped from the pulley, halting the cable car system. The rope was placed back on pulley immediately, they said. Meanwhile, an official overseeing the situation stated that there was no cause for alarm, as the engineering team was immediately deployed to resolve the problem. “There is nothing to worry about. Our team is on the job and efforts are underway to restore the system at the earliest,” the official assured, adding that the services will be restored shortly. The Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world and a major tourist attraction in the region, connects the base station to Kongdori in its first phase and continues to the Apharwat peak in its second phase—(KNO)
