Gulmarg Gondola phase-1 to resume operations tomorrow | KNO

Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) on Monday announced the successful culmination of trials for the Gulmarg Gondola Phase-I, paving the way for the resumption of routine commercial operations from tomorrow with enhanced carrying capacity. Managing Director, J&K Cable Car Corporation, Syed Qamar Sajjad told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that rigorous testing was conducted, including cable trials of all 72 cabins followed by full cabin capacity cum load-bearing tests, to ensure safety and operational efficiency. The successful completion of these tests marks a significant step in enhancing tourist experience while maintaining the highest safety standards, he said. “With the trials concluded successfully, Phase-I of the Gulmarg Gondola will commence commercial operations tomorrow. The Gondola will now operate with an enhanced carrying capacity, offering improved convenience to visitors", the director said. The JKCCC reiterated its commitment to ensuring safe, reliable and world-class services for tourists in the region. The Gondola, Asia’s largest and highest cable car system, is a major tourist attraction in Gulmarg, drawing thousands of visitors annually—(KNO)
