Srinagar, Aug 05 (KNO): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday organised a mega programme in Srinagar to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 that granted a special status to the erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir. The Government of India It revoked it on August 05, 2019, and bifurcated the State into two Union Territories. The party, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the abrogation of Article 370 has brought peace, development and prosperity to J&K. The participants said that after the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu & Kashmir witnessed a major change. “The recent Muharram procession is a major example of that change. Likewise, tourism also got boosted,” Secretary BJP women's wing, Rashidah Mir, told KNO. She said that before August 05, 2019, there used to be hartals and stone pelting, but J&K has now changed a lot. The BJP leaders and participants were seen dancing and singing at various places in Srinagar. The senior BJP leader Tarun Chug also shared a video on social media and said, “5th August is a day when J&K saw a light of revolution and development. This day is historical and it sets Jammu and Kashmir free from the Chains of Article 370.”—(KNO)
