Jammu, Aug 17 (KNO): A day after Congress changed the leadership in Jammu and Kashmir, many former Congressmen are returning to the party fold shortly. Earlier in the day, in a major setback for J&K’s former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad’s Democratic Progressive Azad Party, the former legislator and senior leader Taj Mohi-Ud-Din said he will rejoin the Congress soon. The development comes a day after the Election Commission of India announced the schedule for assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a press conference, he said that he has spent over four decades in the Congress and today during a meeting he discussed with his workers about joining back the party. He said that he will join the party soon. Meanwhile, the former MLAs Abdul Majeed Wani, Gulzar Wani and Muhammad Amin Bhat are deserting Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) too and are returning to the Congress party. As per KNO, all these leaders were in touch with Congress party since long but due to some issues within Congress party their re-entry was being delayed. But now when Karra was appointed PCC president doors have been opened for all these DPAP leaders, sources said. “There is still resentment among a group of Congress leaders in the state who believe that these leaders played a negative role during parliamentary elections and also left no stone unturned to tarnish the image of Congress party,” said a Congress party leader. Another party leader said that they are coming to get a mandate of their own choice. “This will not go well among party leaders who have given their blood and sweat to the party. Giving mandate to parachute leaders will not help the party," the leader said—(KNO)
