IED found on Srinagar-Baramulla highway defused, traffic restored | KNO

Baramulla, Jul 06 (KNO): An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which was found on Baramulla—Srinagar highway near Kutta Mode in Pattan area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday, has been diffused. A senior police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that security forces including Army's 29RR detected the explosive device lying by roadside, following which bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called in. He said that the device was destroyed through a controlled mechanism by bomb disposal squad. He added that traffic movement which was stopped as a precaution on the highway has also been restored. “A case has been registered in this regard and police have started the investigation,” he added—(KNO)
